‘Tekken 8’: players who broke rules will suffer consequences; understand

In many aspects of life, things don’t always go as planned, and the gaming industry is no exception. With each new release, developers dream of a smooth transition filled with eager players exploring their creations without a hitch.

However, in reality, obstacles, mistakes and unpredictable situations occur that can get in the way of a perfect launch.

A crucial element of a successful game is the testing phase. During this stage, a select group of players are given the opportunity to try out the game before its official release.

The idea is to identify and fix issues so that when the title finally hits the public, users have the best experience possible. But when players break the rules to participate in this phase, they not only disrupt this important process, but also open themselves up to the consequences.

And that’s exactly what happened recently with the “Tekken 8“, the new game in the renowned franchise developed by Bandai Namco. Despite the company’s plans to conduct a Closed Network Test (CNT), some players gained unauthorized access.

Those involved will be held accountable

According to information from the developers, these players will be punished for staying beyond the allowed testing time, considerably harming the gaming experience that was being intended by the developers. They did not take into account that their actions were not only unethical, but also illegal.

A Bandai Namcoin response, took strong action against these players. In addition to facing legal consequences for their actions, they were also banned from the Tekken World Tour, a serious punishment that will serve as a warning to anyone who considers violating the rules in the future.

Read an excerpt from Bandai Namco’s statement:

“Such actions violate the Tekken World Tour Terms of Service and Code of Conduct. Additionally, unauthorized downloading or distribution of the game is illegal. Please note that any player found to have accessed the Closed Network Test without authorization may be deemed ineligible for the upcoming Tekken World Tour and other official tournaments.”

“Tekken 8,” despite these obstacles, continues to generate great anticipation. With no official release date, the game is expected to reach players in late 2023 or early 2024.

The final version will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with the ability to migrate between platforms.
