Nintendo warns gamers of a new issue affecting the Switch

Earlier this week, Nintendo Support in Japan issued a warning on Twitter. The company tells us that its flagship portable console, the Switch, is affected by a condensation issue that could compromise the device.

Condensation may occur if the console is placed in a place where the temperature suddenly changes. Moisture in the air then seeps into the device and you know it. water and electronic circuits do not mix.

If you detect moisture on your console, Nintendo recommends that you turn it off immediately, not put it to sleep. As a reminder, to completely turn off the console, you need to press the power button for more than 3 seconds, then select the corresponding button on the screen. You can also force the Switch to turn off by holding the button for 12 seconds or longer.

Nintendo has probably had to deal with a few cases of users reporting condensation on their devices. For example, if you move from a warm to a cold environment too quickly, condensation may occur. Again, the console should theoretically be equipped with protections against this phenomenon, because it is equipped with a ventilation system and generates its own heat. However, players are clearly not immune to the problem. In addition, Nintendo recommends that you do not play in the summer, as the Switch has an overheating problem.
