Anticipation for the next adventure in the “Star Wars” universe is growing more intense with the revelation of details about the game “Star Wars: Outlaws”.
Developed by Massive Entertainment, the game promises an incredible open world, but with a handcrafted touch that sets it apart from other titles.
In an interview with Edge Magazinecreative director Julian Gerighty shared some insights interesting facts about the size and design of the planets in “Star Wars: Outlaws”. Check it out!
Careful detailing
Unlike games like “Starfield,” which use procedural content generation to create vast worlds, the development team behind “Star Wars: Outlaws” opted for a more “handcrafted” and “manageable” approach, carefully crafting every detail of Ubisoft’s game.
Gerighty made a telling comparison when he stated that the size of one planet in “Outlaws” could be equivalent to two of the zones found in “Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey”.
While the game does offer gigantic planets, it doesn’t venture into the “all of England recreated” approach seen in other games of the genre.

While the exact number of planets in “Star Wars: Outlaws” has yet to be revealed, four of them have been introduced so far, with a fifth yet to be revealed.
The development team seems to be focusing on quality and storytelling rather than simply cramming the game with a large number of procedurally generated planets.
The story of “Star Wars: Outlaws” takes place between “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi,” and will feature delinquent Kay Vest. Inspired by iconic figures like Han Solo, Vest wants to stand out in the criminal underworld.
Creative director Julian Gerighty expressed that Vest is a “more relatable” protagonist than Han Solo, a rookie seeking adventure that will take her into situations much bigger than she ever imagined.
Nix, the axolotl-like alien mascot, also captured the hearts of fans, adding a unique and adorable touch to a universe already known for its fantastical creatures.
