Stray isn’t yet on Xbox or Game Pass, but as it’s currently listed as a ‘console limited time exclusive’ by Sony itself, there’s a good chance it will eventually be. This suggests that this is a limited time only thing and there will eventually be an Xbox release unless you expect it.
It’s a game that Microsoft would also want, even if it got it some time after its initial release. It’s been well reviewed overall and caught the attention of many people because: cats. In our rambling review we called it “extraordinary, compact, cat adventure” and awarded it 4.5 out of 5.
Is Stray coming to Game Pass on Xbox?
While we can’t be sure Stray will come to Game Pass in the future, we can be pretty sure that it will somehow come to Xbox. The image above is from Stray’s. PlayStation teaser trailer (opens in new tab) . As you can see, it very clearly says it’s a “console exclusive for a limited time” in addition to being available on PC. This almost certainly indicates that an Xbox version is on the way, it’s just a matter of time. Okay, mentioning console exclusivity is highly unlikely to refer only to a Nintendo Switch release, but highly unlikely – Annapurna Interactive mostly publishes its games on everything.
As for the Stray Xbox Game Pass version, it’s a little harder to predict. Annapurna will have already received a payment from Sony for the PlayStation exclusivity, so it’s hard to say if she can or even get another one from Xbox to put it on Game Pass. Or what if Microsoft pays for a second-hand version? Only time will tell there. If the PlayStation and PC versions are successful enough, who knows? Everyone seems to love the cat game.
