There are Horizon Forbidden West red crystals blocking your way all over the game and there is no way to clear them at first. You’ll need special gear to get through, but you won’t know anything about it at first, which will block you against anything that might be behind these obstacles.
This thing called Firegleam appears all over the Forbidden West, but before you get the Firegleam Igniter, you can’t do anything about it. How to clean Horizon Forbidden West red crystals
You won’t be able to do anything about Horizon Forbidden West crystal growths until you complete the Death’s Door quest. This indicates that when searching for Sylens, you initially followed the coordinates you received from Spire.
Eventually you will reach his workshop and the door of an underground facility blocked by abnormal growth. Sylens will tell you its name is Firegleam and will give you schematics of a Firegleam Igniter to get rid of it.
However, to craft the Firegleam Igniter, you will need two special resources before you can craft it and attach it to your spear:

Luckily they’re both just outside the property. If you haven’t found one or the other item in your travels yet, then go out and start collecting. You will find tinder in the water nearby – go deeper into the lake where you can swim underwater and look for red colored leaves at the bottom:

When you have all the parts, go back to the workbench in Sylen’s camp and craft the Firegleam Igniter. Now, whenever you find Firegleam, simply use the igniter to detonate it and clear your way.
