One of the most famous and beloved dolls in the world is coming to the gaming universe. That’s because the racing game “Forza Horizon 5” will receive two new themed cars from the movie “Barbie”, which stars Margot Robbie (“I, Tonya”) as the protagonist.
The new cars are not yet available for purchase or claim. However, they can already be seen in the car list in the game.
The vehicles are available on both Horizon Promo and Eventlab, where they can be configured so that AI pilots can use them.
The classic cars chosen were the Chevrolet Barbie Movie Corvette EV, which is from 1956. And also the GMC Barbie Movie Hummer EV pick-up from 2022.
Those responsible for the game have not yet explained how to unlock the cars, nor whether they will be the only content from the film to arrive in “Forza Horizon 5”.
The film is eagerly awaited
Whether as a toy or through animated films, Mattel’s Barbie doll has marked the childhood of many children. That’s why the news of a film about the doll, directed by Greta Gerwig (“Lady Bird”), caused a positive impact and a lot of anticipation. The trailer for the film was released and reinforced the idea that a great work is coming.
The plot will follow the Barbie universe and features several dolls and Ken, with the main version of the doll played by Ryan Gosling (“Blade Runner 2049”). The story begins after an existential crisis of the doll, who leaves her world and goes towards the real world.
From the teasers and trailers released so far, it is possible to see that the film’s direction was concerned with creating a totally perfect universe, just as it should be.
Details, like the fact that Barbie stands on her tiptoes and literally floats to her car, did not go unnoticed by management.
There’s no denying that fans of the doll and even those who aren’t so keen on the toy are curious about the release of the film.
The expectation is so great that the film has inspired other sectors, such as fashion and the Barbiecore trend, and, as we saw above, the world of games, which has opened up space for the Barbie universe to pass through.

The game “Forza Horizon 5” is available for PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. The film “Barbie” premieres on July 20th in the main cinemas in the country.
