Forget passwords! Now you DO NOT need them to access your Nintendo Account

A Nintendo is committed to providing a safer environment for gamers, and has just demonstrated this again with the latest update to the Nintendo Accounts system. The company has introduced a new method of protected access to user accounts on the Nintendo Switch and its platforms.

Now, eliminating the need for passwords, the Nintendo Switch user will have an Access Key, also known as Passkey. This is a new method implemented by the Japanese company in an attempt to bring more practicality to players.

How do Nintendo Passkeys work?

As you can already see, the Access Key is an alternative to usual passwords, reducing the risk of identity hijacking and unauthorized third party access to user accounts. With this new credential system, it is not necessary to enter a password to log into your Nintendo Account: simply validate your identity using your cell phone.

This new format will probably work like the access keys for social networks, such as Instagram, for example. In one of the methods for greater account security, you receive some codes to use when accessing or recovering your account.

It is important to emphasize that each Nintendo Account can have up to 10 Access Keys, with several additional security options, ranging from fingerprint to facial recognition to log in. This is an excellent alternative, although it is necessary to ensure that the device used for access meets the requirements of the operating system version.
