Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Purecrystal has become one of the most sought after crafting materials since the MH Rise’s release, as it is integral to crafting many armor pieces from many different sets. Unfortunately, Purecrystal isn’t all that easy to find in the Sunbreak DLC, as it’s a resource limited to only one domain – and not what is overly stated in Purecrystal’s description. Below we’ll cover how to obtain Purecrystal in Monster Hunter Rise, as well as efficient farming methods and all crafting uses for this material.
How to get Purecrystal in Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak
You can get Purecrystal in the MH Rise Sunbreak DLC by going to the Flooded Forest – a weird inconsistency that seems like a glitch or some sort of simple miscommunication, not Jungle as stated in the item’s official description. Pure crystals can only be found in the Flooded Forest at the time of writing and with only one method:
Mine Protrusions. Dotted throughout the Flooded Forest, both Blue and White Mineral Stones have a good chance of dropping Purecrystal and a good chance at that – we’ve seen success in at least one of three tries. It’s also not clear at the time of writing whether White has a higher chance than Blue, or vice versa, but it doesn’t seem so. In any Master Rank/MR quest or expedition (Pure Crystals don’t appear at High or Low Rank) go to the Flooded Forest and break every Mine Outcrop you can find.
It’s also worth noting that players won’t be able to access the Flooded Forest in Master Rank until they’re in the Sunbreak DLC’s schedule with MR 2 Urgent Quest “Provoking An Anjanath’s Wrath”. It’s focused on rescuing an NPC (which, unsurprisingly, requires you to stab an animal to death, since it’s a Monster Hunter game), but there’s nothing stopping you from grabbing Purecrystal while you’re there. Of course, once you complete this quest, the Flooded Forest will then be available for Master Rank exploration.
Farming Pure crystal
Due to the large number of different armor pieces used in making Purecrystal, farming isn’t a bad idea, and it’s a pretty expensive material, similar to Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Awegite – and even more so you can sell it. With a comfortable profit if your Zenny runs low (or use our Monster Hunter Rise Zenny farm method). Otherwise, follow these steps for the fastest possible Pure crystal farming:
- Equip level 3 Geologist Decorations to increase your mining time
- Place a Gathering-type Palico on your team
- Join the Master Level Campaign in the Flooded Jungle
- Follow the marked route to the points marked on the map above (there are other points on the map, but they are difficult to reach and much less efficient than repeating this route).
- Mine Mining Surfaces in these locations until you can no longer yield.
- Get all the Purecrystals you can find.
- Once done, repeat the process after five minutes and the ridges have respawned.
Uses of Purecrystal in armor making
As far as we know Purecrystal can only be used to craft and forge armor pieces from certain sets, but it’s used in many and all high-level Master armors included with Sunbreak, so endgame players will want at least a few crystals. withdraw if necessary. We’ve outlined everything you can do with Purecrystal below, the numbers that follow represent how many crystals you’ll need to make that piece (not including other components).
