‘Final Fantasy XVI’ to get demo before release

After three years without any new releases, PlayStation announced last Monday (22) that “Final Fantasy XVI” will release a public demo before the full version of the game. The release will tell the story of Clive Rosfield’s youth.

PlayStation has announced that all progress made in the demo will be transferable to the full title at a later date. Final Fantasy XVI is set to launch on June 22, and will be exclusive to the PS5 for six months.

Naoki Yoshida, the game’s producer, explains that the focus on a single platform was to make it easier for developers and programmers to optimize the game.

This way, by focusing solely on the PS5, the team can improve the game’s performance, exploiting the console’s capabilities to the fullest.

According to the company, there is still no set date for the release of the demo. But new information may emerge at the PlayStation Showcase.if it will happen today (24).

‘Game of Final Fantasy XVI’?

The 16th game in the “Final Fantasy” franchise was produced by Square Enix. In addition, the new game will be set in the dark world of Valisthea.

This represents a return of the story to the essentially medieval theme, as in the first titles. And this decision was not by chance…

When they started developing the game, the game’s art director, Hiroshi Minagawa, was inspired by a big HBO series that was on the rise: “Game of Thrones“.

This revived a desire to “return to origins”, which resulted in this artistic creation. Minagawa says:

“Early in development, the most important thing was deciding the visual direction we were going for, and we decided that everyone had to be on board.

We needed to know what we were going to do, so Yoshi-san [Naoki Yoshida, produtor do jogo] gave us a mission.

That mission was to watch the first four seasons of ‘Game of Thrones.’ He bought the Blu-ray box set and all the developers watched it.”
