Elden Ring Irina questline walkthrough and guide

The Elden Ring Irina questline, which features her father Edgar in Castle Mone, a shorter, more effective quest where players try to find Irina’s father in order to bring them together, a small family reunion that could be one of the healthier elements of Elden Ring. … or not. If you’ve met Irina on the Weeping Peninsula, we’ll show you how to find her father at Morne Castle, what this has to do with a particular sword, and what Irina’s questline in Elden Ring means.

Irina questline guide for Elden Ring

Irina is first encountered while sitting on a wall just after the Sacrifice Bridge, just after this southbound area on the Weeping Peninsula. Looking East from the Bridge of Sacrifice, the Place of Grace should reveal her with short blonde hair and a faded dress. Talking to him will start his quest, a story of mission, revenge and siege warfare that will take you to the opposite side of the Peninsula. We’ll guide you through all the basic steps below. Check the map above to correspond to the steps below.

  1. Talk to Irina and she will give you Irina’s Letter and ask you to hand it over to her father Edgar at Morne Castle.
  2. Castle Morne is at the southern point of the Weeping Peninsula and is filled with a few miscellaneous enemies as well as the bestial foes known as the Misbegotten. Edgar, at the top of the Northeast tower – when you fight in the courtyard and reach the trenches, follow them directly to their location, go down at some point. He will say that he cannot leave the Morne Castle until he is sure that the legendary sword of the Morne Castle will not be taken by the Misbegotten first. He will also give a Sacrifice Dal – which was very nice for him.
  3. Go back to where Irina was. Annoyingly, he will have died with an Iron Ax buried in the ground next to him (indicating that this was probably an act of vengeance by the Misbegotten enemies Edgar was fighting).
  4. Head back to Morne Castle and this time continue through it and descend to the southernmost point, the beach. There will be a boss fight with an enemy named Leonine Misbegotten, the early-mid game boss focused on aggressive melee attacks and fast moves. Blocking isn’t recommended against these heavy attack barrages, but you can dodge, and Misbegotten is apparently a bit weak against Slashing damage, if any.
  5. Killing Leonine Misbegotten grants you the Grafted Blade Great Sword. Take it back to Edgar – he won’t take it from you, you just need to prove that Misbegotten won’t get him. He thanks you and says he’s going to see Irina now that her mission is over – and no, you can’t spoil the surprise for her.
  6. Return for the third and final time across the bridge to Irina and you will find Edgar mourning his body. Talk to him and exhaust his dialogue.
  7. Edgar reappears as a hostile NPC invader named Edgar of Vengeance, located in the Revenger’s Shack north of Minor Erdtree in Southwest Liurnia. Kill him to get a Furlcalling Finger Remedy, a Shabriri Grape, five Raw Meat Dumplings, and a +8 Banished Knight’s Halberd.

Unfortunately, there are no further steps to follow up on this bleak ending, as there isn’t much room for the adventure to go from here, considering all the main characters are dead. Still, the Exile Knight Wire is pretty good, and the Shabriri Grape is a unique (albeit disgusting) item to use with NPC Hyetta’s questline.

Can you save Irina?

No, there is no way to save Irina from dying… just by not playing the mission. Once you take step 2 and deliver the letter, Irina will die and there seems to be no way to avoid it. The best thing you can do is never deliver the letter and therefore never trigger the flag in the story that causes Misbegotten to go after him.

Irina questline rewards

Irina’s questline provides several rewards, all of which we mentioned above. The main ones are Shabriri Grape and +8 Exiled Halberd and Grafted Blade Great Sword, which he dropped when his father was killed.

The Grafted Blade Greatsword is an extremely powerful legendary Colossal Sword (and a reference to Game of Thrones, given how it looks in an armed version of the Iron Throne), a sword that requires very high Power to wield but also scales Strength very well. . It can be a solid choice if you’re a pure muscle builder, especially considering that his unique Ability Vow of Vengeance temporarily increases the user’s all Attribute stats by 5.
