We had to be (very) patient, but Diablo 4 is finally starting to appear. The game is available in closed alpha recently, and from what we’ve heard, the feedback has been particularly positive. While it made the game millions of dollars, it’s a boon for Blizzard, which has inflicted the wrath of fans since the release of Diablo Immortal and its controversial economic model.
Today, a new leak tells us more about how the game works, including the options available in its menus. The images reveal different customization options, giving pride in character creation, a pivotal moment in any self-respecting RPG. As expected, it will be possible to change the face and body of your avatar as you wish, while dressing up with various accessories and tattoos.
Hardcore mode will make a comeback in Diablo 4
It will also be possible to choose between creating a casual, seasonal or hardcore character. Connoisseurs of the epic will know what this last option is. Indeed, the hardcore mode induces the activation of the permadeath mode. Translation: If your character dies during the game, he dies forever, leaving behind potential hours of gameplay and all accumulated equipment.
Without having to get to such extremes, we also discover that Diablo 4 will allow the player to choose to be guided by the name of the interface, though that aspect is still relatively obscure. Finally, characters will be assigned Adventurer or Veteran status, each granting access to less loot and experience. The game is scheduled to be released on PC and consoles next year.
