Prime Video surprises with impactful trailer for ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’!

Last Thursday (7), Prime Video launched the first trailer of ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’, the new series inspired by the renowned 2005 film starring Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

The new series will star actors Donald Glover and Maya Erskine. In the story, the actors take on the roles of a pair of spies who get jobs at a mysterious spy agency.

This organization promises a life filled with glory, fortune, world travel and a dream home in Manhattan.

To complete a mission, the duo will need to adopt new identities in a marriage arranged, going by the names of Mr. and Mrs. John and Jane Smith, while facing high-risk missions.

However, things start to get a little more complicated when a genuine passion arises between them.

The series will follow a different path from the film starring Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, in which one was unaware of the other’s secret identity, and both attempted to carry out domestic murders.

While in the new seriesboth are aware that their partner is a spy, and they need to complete missions while maintaining the appearance of a simple and happy couple.

The cast of ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’

Amazon Prime Video has made significant investments in castbringing renowned stars to star in the new production. Among them are:

• Brazilian Wagner Moura (‘Iluminadas’);

• Alexander Skarsgard (‘The Man from the North’);

• Parker Posey (‘Lost in Space’);

• Eiza González (‘Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw’);

• Ron Perlman (‘Sons of Anarchy’);

• Michaela Coel (‘I May Destroy You’);

• Sharon Horgan (‘Catastrophe’);

• Sarah Paulson (‘American Horror Story’);

• Úrsula Corberó (‘La Casa de Papel’);

• John Turturro (‘Batman’);

• Paul Dano (‘Batman’).

In addition to being an actor, Glover collaborates on writing the scripts with Francesca Sloane, his work partner on ‘Atlanta’.

Both serve as executive producers on the series, with Sloane taking on the role of showrunner.
