“I would love to play for them because they have such a good fan base” – Harsh Tyagi aims to play under MS Dhoni at CSK [Exclusive]

He has played 55 matches across all formats since his debut in 2018.

Decided as player of the match during the 2018 Under-19 Asian Cup Final against Sri Lanka. How did you feel after playing a key role for your side in the summit clash and your favorite wicket during the match? ?

This match is very memorable for me because I got into 6 goals and we had already played a series against Sri Lanka. So the tournament (Asian Cup) was unforgettable and the match was also unforgettable because winning the Man of the Match award and also in the finals is every player’s dream and representing your country and winning a trophy is a much bigger dream. Q. Who do you see as your role model?

When I started playing cricket, I didn’t think much about cricket. I started following cricket by watching it on TV and on the internet. I used to watch Daniel Vettori’s videos. I used to watch their matches a lot. Daniel Vettori’s bowling spells inspired me, motivated me and learned something from it.

Q. You have played with and against many players with extensive experience in the sport. Who gave you the best advice and what was it?

During my U-19 days, Rahul Dravid sir was our coach and mentor, so he would give advice, “even if you score zero or get zero wickets and perform as well as if you get a hundred points or get five or 10 wickets. you still need to learn something from every game in a match.” So the advice Rahul Efendi gave me is that if your day is not going well or your day is going well, you should be calm and calm and every day is a new day and you need to learn from your mistakes.

It was a very motivating event for me. Every game there was a guy who packed the team bags. What happened is that our match was about to start, and just before the referees came in, there was a bag left around, so the match was about to start, and our bag was left there, the ones who had the ball. So everyone was saying who will bring the bag now. So the man ran with all his might and brought that bag back just in time.

Ricky Ponting used to give the man of the match to every player who played in the game, and the man of the match award in that match was the man from the staff. This incident motivated me to get Ricky Ponting to notice all the little things. The man in management helped the team and got the MOM award.

Q. Which IPL team do you want to play for and why?

I want to play under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. If Chennai Super Kings give me the opportunity to play, I would love to play for them because they have a very good fan base, a very good leader and a very good management. That’s why I think CSK is the team I want to play for.
