New Zealand goalkeeper Devon Conway made a special effort to save some runs when his team locked horns with Pakistan on Oct. However, this frenzied effort didn’t help Black Caps much as Pakistan chased their 148 goals.
New Zealand captain Kane Williamson won the toss and chose to strike first. Conway scored a crucial 36 runs out of 25 balls, while Mark Chapman’s cameo of 32 runs out of 16 balls helped New Zealand win 147/8 in the 20 shots allocated to them.
Pakistani captain Babar Azam’s 79 undefeated hit 53 pushed his team to chase the target comfortably. Despite Men in Green’s slow start, Azam and Shadab Khan put up a 61-run stand for third base, and Shadab added 34 runs from 22 balls.

When Shadab Khan threw a scoop Tim Southfinished, the ball flew over Devon Conway’s head. Conway chased the ball until he nearly reached the border ropes. He used his football skills, swiping and kicking the ball to keep it from touching the strings, and saved two runs in the process. Ish Sodhi was also running towards the ball, and as Conway cleared the ball from the boundary ropes, Sodhi picked up the ball and threw it back.

Pakistan is the undefeated team in three series so far. Bangladesh and New Zealand, who have yet to win any matches, will honk at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Sunday (October 9th).
