The England Cricket Board (ECB) will use more commissioners and cameras to identify drunk fans at The Hundred, which is scheduled to kick off at the Ageas Bowl on Wednesday, 3 August. They want to make matches more family-friendly, amid concerns about drunkenness and anti-social behavior at venues.
Last year, there were several instances of bad behavior fueled by drunkenness by fans. Hundred’s general manager, Sanjay Patel, said they took steps to prevent such behavior during matches.
“There were isolated incidents last year – we’re very aware of that,” Patel said. “If you look at our demographic, this is something we got to do right this year. There are a few things – alcohol-free booths are available, there are also family booths that we didn’t have last year. So families have the option to sit among other families, which I think will help.”

“We can’t have any antisocial behavior – it doesn’t matter if it’s Hundred, international cricket, T20 Blast full stop,” he said. “We don’t just want this in our own space. We want to stamp him for all our cricket.
