A few days before the official announcement, a few information about the OnePlus Watch surfaced on the internet. The leak also claimed OnePlus Watch not working on Wear OSThe operating system for Google’s smart watches. In a post on the OnePlus forum, the firm’s CEO Pete Lau officially confirmed the absence of Wear OS.
OnePlus relies on an operating system called Smart Wear
“During the development of the OnePlus watch, we tried to understand the sensitive points for the smart watch user” explains Pete Lau in response to a user. During this development phase, OnePlus worked hand-in-hand with Google to design improvements for Wear OS. This partnership with Google has clearly not been successful and OnePlus chose to bet on another solution for its first smartwatch.

RTOS is a real-time operating system. It is an operating system designed for embedded systems such as a clock, thermostat or control panel. OnePlus did not specify the name of the RTOS behind its Smart Wear solution.
