IRobot, the maker of Roomba vacuum robots, is currently in a bad state. According to our colleagues at The Verge, a recent software update has broken the behavior of the Roomba i7 and Roomba i9 robots. In the effect, The 3.12.8 patch caused a few navigation issues.

As the site states, iRobot has contacted some injured users specifically to revert to the previous update. However, and as many testimonies attest, iRobot would take time to rollback software updateand meanwhile users have to deal with these numerous errors.
iRobot said they are currently working on a new patch“the coming weeks”, without further details. Therefore, you will need to be patient before relying on your robot vacuum cleaner to clean your home again. Perfect opportunity to get that old broom out of your closet, right?
