Ambilight which allows you to do exactly that. But for Hue bulb owners who don’t have an Ambilight TV, syncing their bulbs with the TV screen has been impossible until now. That’s why Philips was launched. Play HDMI Sync Box, a box with four HDMI inputs and WiFi connectivity to accomplish this task. Concretely, you connect one of the outputs of your Blu-ray player, console and internet box, for example.
The box is then configured via the Philips Hue app – then you can choose the behavior of your lamps based on their position in the room. So when you read content on your televisions, all your lights are stretched out with a bright blur of what’s going on around the edges of the screen. It also supports HDMI 2.0b signals with HDCP 2.2 and resolutions up to 4K at 60 frames per second with HDR10.
