CES 2019: Omron launches a connected watch that can measure blood pressure!
With Heartguide, the Japanese firm goes even further. Omron showcased at the Las Vegas trade show first portable blood pressure monitor integrated into a connected watch. Based on more than 80 patents, the expert was able to miniaturize the components found in blood pressure monitors used by doctors.
Heartguide also works exactly the same as a traditional blood pressure monitor. On the bracelet of the watch inflatable armband, which can regularly measure the blood pressure in the wearer’s arteries. Omron’s design stands out from other connected watches on the market that only provide blood pressure estimation, such as the Apple Watch Series 4.

Unlike some watches dedicated to health, the Heartguide has an elegant and simple design. It is built around a low-energy backlit display. Omron lets the average user only charge the watch 2 to 3 times a week.
Heartguide also offers the same functions as a traditional connected watch: notifications, SMS, calls and physical activity tracking (step count, calories burned, etc.) and sleep. Here, too, the clock is quite advanced: It can distinguish between deep sleep and light sleep.
