WhatsApp is constantly improving the design of its application, sometimes in the desktop version and sometimes in different interfaces of the mobile version. So it’s no surprise to see the latest beta testing a brand new interface in the Android version. In version 2.23.13.16, messaging displays a much cleaner, more spaced, but above all, much more readable design, as you can see in the image above.
According to the website WEBetaInfo, which published the news, it seems that this new interface will be primarily aimed at Android smartphones. One of the notable changes is at the level of the top strip, which is completely white this time, allowing the now green app logo to stand out much better. The tabs at the bottom of the screen now allow you to quickly move to any section using icons. We think this design will adapt to the dark mode of the application.
WhatsApp gains readability thanks to its brand new interface
Where those famous tabs were previously located, there are now new labels that sort your conversations by their status: unread, personal, professional, and a recent label that groups all your discussions together. Here again, the aim is to save users time by offering to sort their messages directly to find those that interest them more easily.
Let’s keep in mind that the design presented here may still change before it becomes generally available. Again on WABetaInfo this should happen before the end of the year. However, theoretically the spine should remain unchanged; WhatsApp’s goal is to gain clarity while freeing up space. We will keep you informed about the progress of the project.
