WhatsApp: same account on up to 5 devices
WhatsApp has released a new update through the Google Play beta program 2.20.196.8. practice tests a new interface that allows adding multiple devices to the main account. a new option called “associated devices” now available via settings. Specifically, you can add up to four smartphones and use the same phone number in addition to the main smartphone.
Thanks to the WhatsApp Web feature, it is already possible to access the same account on more than one device by scanning the QR code. This alternative is certainly practical, but complicated as you have to go through a web browser on the second smartphone with a non-ergonomic interface. The new option works differently, allowing the same number to be used on a clean instance of WhatsApp installed on another smartphone without going through Chrome, Firefox or your favorite browser.

The new “paired devices” menu must be combined with the existing interface for accessing WhatsApp Web. In other words, this option is not going away. It would of course be possible to access the same account on a computer (Windows, macOS, etc.) from a web browser or via the WhatsApp application, which still does not work independently on the PC.
What is still unknown is how to sync messages on two different smartphones while using the same account. Since messages are saved locally on the main smartphone and not in the cloud, it may be necessary to connect all devices simultaneously to take advantage of WhatsApp’s cross-platform functionality.
