WhatsApp: paid messages and advertising space in the application

After a long testing phase, WhatsApp is now officially available its solution business » to brands. The firm says that since last year, 3 million brands have already used the app to communicate with their fans. The social network will now allow companies to purchase ad space in your Facebook news feed that will send you directly to a WhatsApp discussion.

If the brand decides to respond to the call within 24 hours, the message will remain completely free. If the account’s community manager drags a little too much, messages will be charged. To respond to a consumer, the brand would have to pay between 0.43 and 7.7 euro cents per message. This rate varies from country to country per hour.

WhatsApp also offersother paid featureswill be reserved specifically for communicating with a user who has already sent a message to the brand. Via chat, a company can notify you about the delivery of your package, send you air tickets and even set up an appointment (in a store or over the phone).

Facebook explains that these messages should not be for promotional purposes. Rather, it is to facilitate the work of after-sales service. The conversation can be blocked by users at any time, assuring the firm. Similarly, exchanged messages are fully encrypted.
