WhatsApp is undoubtedly one of the applications that has gained the most new features. Meta is constantly testing new messaging options, such as the ability to message yourself, which partly explains its unparalleled popularity. Indeed, some of its new features are regularly eagerly awaited by users. This is the case of the Communities tab, for example.
In testing since April, development of the feature accelerated last August when Meta began releasing it in beta, effectively indicating that the final version was on the way. It’s now complete. As Mark Zuckerberg noted this summer, the Communities tab is now available to users and brands around the world. “A major evolution of WhatsApp”.
That’s it, the WhatsApp Communities tab is here!
As a reminder, the Communities tab provides a new way to manage groups in conversations. Concretely, it makes it possible to create subgroups within larger groups. For example, in the “Work” group, you can only chat with colleagues who are in the same office as you. In other words, WhatsApp will work more or less the same as Discord, with end-to-end encryption.
Note that the workplace example is not trivial. For some time now, messaging has clearly demonstrated its desire to gain a foothold in the professional world, allowing, for example, the ability to add up to 1024 members in a single group or even make video calls with 32 participants; Compete with Teams, Zoom and even Google Meet.
