Twitter continues to introduce new features to the social network over the years. For example, in July 2020, Twitter finally changed its interface to make private messages easier to access. And since 2017, the Desktop version of the social network has had a somewhat special dark mode. In fact, this “dark mode” does not offer a true black theme, but a dark blue theme.
Almost four years later, Twitter decided to fix the situation by updating the dark mode of its Desktop version at the beginning of February 2021. Now the Dark mode will offer a true black theme, like the one we have been able to find for months on the Android and iOS version of the social network. However, it is obvious that this update has caused some problems for many users. Twitter Desktop suddenly switch to light mode. And this is for every connection.
As the social network notes, this update was implemented to adapt Twitter’s display to the user’s operating system preferences (in this case, displaying in light or dark mode). According to them, The error may be due to a conflict between the system’s display mode and Twitter’s display mode.
