Among the few new Android 11 features, the native screen recording feature is one of the most exciting. Surprisingly, the Screen Recorder feature is not visible to many Android 11 users. If it doesn’t appear on your Android 11 phone, you’ve come to the right page. Here we will help you fix Screen Recorder not showing up on Android 11 phone.
Android 11’s screen recorder functionality also allows you to record audio. So you can tell the videos while recording them. Besides that, you can even enable the feature to show touches on the screen. Want to have the feature ASAP?
Let’s see how to fix the missing Screen Recorder function on your Android 11 phone.
1. Check Requirements
You may find this strange, but you should make sure you are running a proper build of Android 11 on your phone. Screen recording functionality is only available in Android 11. So anything less than that will not have this feature.
To check your Android version, open Settings and go to About. Check the number listed under Android version. If you are using an older version, update your phone.

2. Restart Phone
If you have just installed Android 11 on your phone, you need to restart it. Sometimes, such a simple idea works wonders.
3. Add to Quick Settings
If you are looking for Screen Recorder app in app drawer or phone settings, you will be disappointed. This is because there is no dedicated app or setting for Screen Recorder. It is somewhat hidden and only accessible from the Quick settings panel.
For those unaware, the Quick settings panel is the tray of settings toggles that appear when you open the notification panel. You can even customize the Quick settings panel.
Here are the steps to access Screen Recorder on Android 11:
Stage 1: Open the notification shade on your phone. Scroll down again in the shade to show the full list of shortcuts. Alternatively, pull down the notification panel using the bar below the shortcuts.

Step 2: Swipe left to view various shortcuts. You will find the Screen Recording option. Tap on it to start recording (more on that below).

If the Screen Recording option is not visible, you will need to add it to the Quick settings panel. For this, open the Quick settings panel and tap the Edit icon (it looks like a pencil).

Scroll down to view the full list of available settings. You should see Screen Recording at the bottom. Touch and hold the Screen Recording shortcut and drag it to the top panel of icons that will appear in the Quick settings panel.

Note: Once Screen Recorder is added to Quick settings, you can access it directly.
Go back and open the Quick settings panel from the notification shade. Swipe left to view various shortcuts. Tap on Screen Recording to start recording.

4. Uninstall Third-Party Screen Recording Apps
If the Screen Recording option is not visible in the Quick settings panel, you should uninstall any third-party screen recording app. This has worked for many users. Restart the phone after uninstalling the third-party app. Then follow method 3 and Screen Recorder should appear.
5. Update All Apps
We also recommend updating the Google app and Google Play Services on your phone. See our tutorial on how to update Google Play Services on Android phones.
