Even if you set the ring volume to a high level, you may miss calls when you are in a noisy environment. But if you have vibration enabled, you’re less likely to miss a call thanks to your phone’s vibration. However, from time to time, vibration doesn’t seem to work for many Samsung Galaxy phone users. This post will help you fix it if you have one and are experiencing the same.

1. Reboot Phone
Like all troubleshooting, start by restarting your Samsung Galaxy smartphone. This should fix any temporary glitches causing the vibration issue.
2. Enable Vibration
If your phone does not vibrate when you receive a new call, you should make sure that the ‘Vibrate on ringing’ setting is enabled. You may have accidentally disabled vibration and forgot to enable it. To do this, go to Settings > Sounds & vibration. Enable Vibrate toggle while playing. If it’s already on, disable it and enable it again.

If vibration feedback is not working for a particular app like the Messages app, you should check the app’s settings. Android phones allow you to customize notification settings for each app individually. Vibration must have been accidentally disabled for the app.
There are two ways to check. First, you can open the app settings directly from the app and enable vibration under Notification settings. Alternatively, go to phone Settings > Apps. Tap the problematic app. Then tap Notifications.
You will find various categories of notifications. Tap the appropriate one. In the case of messaging apps, tap on Incoming messages. Make sure you tap the text, not the transition. Turn on the toggle next to Vibrate. If it’s on, disable it and enable it again.

5. Remove Theme

Often times, a third-party app can also cause issues with vibration. One way to check this is to put your phone in Safe mode. Third-party apps won’t work in Safe mode and so if a third-party app is acting roguely, you can uninstall them one by one to fix the problem.
note: Putting your phone in Safe mode will not delete your data.
To activate safe mode, turn off your phone. Once completely turned off, press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons to turn the device on. When the Samsung logo appears on the screen, release the Power button but keep holding the Volume down button until you see the home screen. The Safe mode text will appear at the bottom, indicating that safe mode is enabled.
Now test the vibration. Restart the phone to exit safe mode.
8. Reset All Settings
The final software-related fix is to reset the app preferences on your phone. This will reset all settings on your phone to their default values. Find out what happens by resetting the settings before continuing.
To reset the settings, go to Settings > General Management > Reset > Reset all settings.
9. Check Vibration Motor
If the above solutions do not help, you will have to test if you have a faulty vibration motor on your Samsung Galaxy phone. You can do this without opening the body of the phone and use the hardware test function. Here are the steps:
Stage 1: Open Dialer or Phone app. Dial *#7353# or *#0*#. No need to press the call button. The code will be activated automatically.
step 2: A white screen will open with various options. Tap on Vibration.
If the phone is vibrating then it’s a software issue. However, if the phone does not vibrate, then it’s time to visit the service center.
10. Perform Interactive Control
Another way to determine if a hardware problem is causing the vibration problem is to use the Interactive control feature in the Samsung Members app.
Stage 1: Open the Samsung Members app on your phone. If it is not installed, install it from the link below.
Step 2: Tap Get help, then tap Interactive controls.
