TikTok: Oracle Wants to Buy US Part of Chinese Social Network

If you have a teenager around you, haven’t you already heard the phrase: “Here, check out my new TikTok”? All young consumers of social networks now talk only about making short videos and watching those published in the application, an application whose success has greatly surpassed that of Snapchat today (its goal is certainly the same).

However, the daily financial newspaper reports that Oracle, which is backed by investment funds, is currently negotiating with ByteDance over the relaunch of existing versions of TikTok. United States, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. What interest does Oracle have in this acquisition? What synergies could there be between the existing American group activities and TikTok? These are very mysterious questions. Capitalizing on TikTok’s excellent reputation could be a financial bet.

But as with Snapchat, which Facebook wanted to buy at all costs before giving up, the blow could fall just as quickly again because the youth craze is so fickle, meaning it would be very difficult to make the huge investment such an acquisition represents profitable.
