Google will launch its service soon PlayPass Dedicated to video games on Android, but not exclusively. For a $4.99 monthly subscription, you’ll have access to hundreds of games, plus premium apps (paid or offering in-app purchases). The benefits are many: the subscriber gets rid of ads, in-app purchases and has unlimited access to the catalog whose contents are not yet fully known. A screenshot shows, for example, that we will find the recently released game Stardew Valley on Android with a price of 7 €.
Google Play Pass: Apple Arcade rival to launch with hundreds of premium games and apps
Android games are clearly at the center of the service and cover various categories. New titles will also be presented in the catalog. There is obviously no special application. Content can be accessed directly from the Google Play Store in an “Explore Google Play Pass” section. When visiting games and apps outside of the Play Pass section, an icon indicates that the content is available through the service and with a purple stripe below the purchase or download button.
Google Play Pass will be released for $4.99 once a month with a 10-day free trial to test it out. Google has confirmed the existence of the service and the start of testing on Android Police. No details about the launch date have been given for the moment, but it should definitely be within the year to know that its Apple counterpart, Apple Arcade, has been announced for this standalone.
