The tool is called Thermal Protector. It allows you to adjust the internal temperature of the smartphone, where the SoC performance drops. Therefore, you can choose a lower or higher temperature than is set by default. Note that you can only change the compression temperature by: maximum 2°C. up or down. The idea is to maintain maximum performance longer before the system implements security measures.

This tool will not be useful for everyone. It will mainly serve to the videographers (for example, shoot in 4K or 8K) and to competitive players, both are used where the required performance is very high. For the rest, you’ll use this setting very sparingly, except that your smartphone tends to get hot: setting the temperature limit lower will fix the problem. Also note that this functionality is available in One UI 3.0. Inaccessible with a Galaxy running under a version lower than that.
