Samsung Galaxy Tab S2: What We Know So Far

We haven’t seen an impressive flagship Android tablet so far in 2015, but if recent leaks and reports are any indication, a brand new premium Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 is coming very soon. The Galaxy Tab S was launched in June last year, and below is what we know so far about the new Tab S2 for 2015.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab lineup can be a bit confusing with all the different options, names and sizes, but the company’s latest Galaxy Tab S is about to get a refresh in 2015 and looks set to surpass Google’s Nexus 9 and iPad Air 2. same time.

Back in May, our first solid leaks about some possible specs and screen sizes surfaced at an unofficial press release about Samsung’s new Galaxy Tab S2, but this week a real photo has surfaced that gives us our first glimpse of what might be going on. In June of last year, Samsung launched its latest device aimed at the high-end tablet market called the Galaxy Tab S. This was better than the Samsung Galaxy Tab, Tab Pro, and even the previously released Galaxy Note 10 tablet. We expected another impressive tablet from Samsung to arrive in 2015, and below is our first look at what’s coming soon.

According to several leaks and new images provided by SamMobile, the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 will be an impressively stylish device with a stunning high-resolution 2k display and will come in two screen sizes, just like last year. Below are our first leaked images reportedly of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 in an 8-inch form factor.

The image above is reportedly one of Samsung’s new tablets and basically looks like a larger Galaxy S6. The 8-inch display appears to have very thin bezels on the sides to keep the physical size small, and the same larger dedicated home button that will likely house a built-in fingerprint scanner for security.

We see it could be a very large rear speaker, and on the back we see the same loops that attach to Samsung’s official flip case and stand. A similar design and accessory accompanied the Galaxy Tab S in 2014. leaks are emerging This tablet is extremely thin at just 5.4mm thick.

Galaxy Tab S2 Rumors

Last year Samsung’s Tab S came in both an 8.4-inch and a larger 10.5-inch variant. Strangely, this year they’ve rumoredly changed from the skinny tall 16:9 aspect ratio and will offer an iPad and Nexus 9 style 4:3 aspect ratio. It’s basically wider tablets that aren’t that long. The two new Samsung Galaxy Tab S2s will be roughly the same size as Apple’s iPad and iPad Mini, with 8-inch and 9.7-inch sizes.

Multiple leaks have almost confirmed the specs, and these will be two high-end tablets with premium aluminum design, impressive display and fancy specs with a big price tag to go with.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 Release Date

While we haven’t yet received any word from Samsung about their new tablet, or even a confirmation that it’s coming soon, the Galaxy Tab S2 has already arrived. passed the FCC and available for sale in the United States. Last month’s leak and several reports from SamMobile claim it will be announced this month and go live in early July.

The original Galaxy Tab S was announced in June 2014 and went on sale in July, and we’re hearing the same launch cycle will happen in 2015 with the new Tab S2. The tablet launched last year for $399 and $499, so be on the lookout for an announcement later this month that reveals a device similar to the one pictured above at roughly the same price point.
