Samsung Galaxy Tab Edge Rumors Emerge

Over the past few months, all the reports and rumors for Samsung have been about the new Galaxy Note 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus with a larger 5.7-inch curved display. Both will be announced this week on August 13, but several rumors suggest that we may see a third device, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Edge.

Earlier this year Samsung launched two new Android tablets for 2015. These are the Galaxy Tab S2 and it comes in two sizes. But Samsung loves to offer tons of options for buyers, and a few rumors they suggest we may see a new Samsung Galaxy Tab Edge later this month. If Samsung does indeed launch a curved tablet, here are a few things buyers can expect.

In July, Samsung sent out press invites for an event in New York City, giving the elite press the chance to see “what’s next” at Samsung’s own show. annual Unpacked event. This is where we’ve seen the new Galaxy Tabs, the Galaxy S6 earlier this year, and the Galaxy Note for the past few years. On August 13, Samsung is hosting a big event in New York, and the company may have more than a few surprises on its hands.

This is the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2

At this point, it’s almost entirely confirmed that Samsung will take the stage and announce the brand new 5.7-inch Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. Two devices that have been rumored for months.

However, we could also see a third smartphone of some kind or a brand new Android tablet. smart watch. Samsung has already announced the new Galaxy Tab S2 tablets, which will launch worldwide later this month. The company is likely to announce a launch date for the Galaxy Tab S2 in the US this week in NYC, but the image below suggests something different.

Last year, Samsung launched its first flagship device (excluding the Galaxy Round) with a curved screen alongside the Galaxy Note 4, calling it the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. The 5.7-inch screen was curved on one side and had notification strips like ESPN’s six and tons of other little tricks. Then earlier this year the Galaxy S6 Edge came with folds on both sides. What’s next? A curved Samsung Galaxy Tab Edge. Maybe.

Samsung teaser

The image above and below is a teaser image from the Samsung Philippines website that was quickly removed. All it has now is a countdown timer with the background image of the three devices completely missing. Looking closely, we see something that looks like the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus on top with its curved edges. In the middle is the new Samsung Galaxy Note 5 with the S-Pen stylus pulled out slightly, and something even bigger at the bottom. A roughly 7 or 8 inch smartphone or tablet.

A closer look at the image shows that the Samsung Galaxy S6 has the same aluminum edges as the new Galaxy Note 5 and others, but much larger. They’ve already announced the Galaxy Tab S2, so this could be something completely different.

we heard a few different reports from a Galaxy Tab Edge, and this image may be the only teaser that was quickly removed. The design differs from the Galaxy Tab S2, which has speakers at the bottom and lacks the thin plastic gaps that separate the aluminum as shown above. These plastic splitters are for improving WiFi and lost signals from an all aluminum device.

It’s possible that on August 13 there will be a brand new Samsung Galaxy Tab Edge with an 8-inch curved display, along with the new Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. We know a third major device is coming, we just don’t know what it is.

If a Galaxy Tab Edge with an 8-inch display does emerge, we can expect it to have a similar design and feature list as the newly revealed Galaxy Tab S2. Those with a 7.9 inch 2048 x 1536 HD S-AMOLED display are curved on one or both sides only. It will likely be powered by the same octa-core processor and 3GB of RAM as the Galaxy Tab S2, have a fingerprint sensor for enhanced security and an 8-megapixel rear and 2.1 front camera. All of Samsung’s tablets have an IR sensor for remote control features and a micro SD slot for user expandable storage for uploading movies, videos, TV shows and more.

We haven’t seen any solid reports or rumors about a Samsung Galaxy Tab Edge for now, just a few light suggestions. One thing is clear, though, that Samsung has something bigger than the 5.7-inch Galaxy Note 5 set to be unveiled on August 13, and we’ll have to wait and see what exactly that is. For the US it could be the Galaxy Tab S2 or something completely new and different. Leave us a comment below with your thoughts. Would you buy the Galaxy Tab Edge?
