Rumors That Google Is Making Its Own Smartphone

According to a brand new report from Google, Apple is reportedly looking to build its own smartphone to take over popular manufacturers like Samsung and Motorola. Information. Just as Apple made the iPhone and Microsoft made the Surface and other devices, Google could soon manufacture and offer its own Android smartphones and tablets.

As most people know, this month Google started shipping two new phones. Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P sold directly through the Google Store. But all of this was done by partner manufacturers like LG or Huawei and not by Google.

The Nexus lineup is always comprised of the latest hardware and software jointly developed by Google and its partners. It helps others like Google, LG, Samsung, HTC and more to create devices and then sell them both with the Google (and other company) logo. In the future, we may see Google’s own phones like Samsung’s Galaxy S6 or Apple’s iPhone 6s.

Dating back to 2010, from the Nexus One to the new Nexus 6P, Google has developed these devices with others. HTC made the original Nexus One, Samsung made the Nexus S, LG made the Nexus 5X and Huawei created the latest Nexus 6P. Even ASUS made the Nexus Player and Nexus 7 tablet, but the next phone could be 100% made and developed by Google. These companies help with phone making and distribution, but Google may finally be ready to do something on its own.

In recent years, Google has made and released its own devices. Even from Google Chromecast to Chromebook Pixel laptop. And now a new device called Pixel C is coming later this year. A tablet made by them rather than someone else like the ASUS Nexus 7 or HTC Nexus 9.

Next September or October, when we usually see new Nexus smartphones and tablets, Google may launch a phone of their own making rather than a partner. At the same time, we could see a smartphone and tablet much earlier than Google to take on the Galaxy S7 or LG G4 at Google I/O 2016 in May.

The news from The Information reports, spoken at Google’s headquarters, shows that they want to make the phones themselves. Part of what makes the iPhone so successful, performing great and running smoothly, is that Apple handles every aspect of the process. From the hardware, the chipset, the processor and of course the software. With Android, Google only makes the software and others do the rest.

Instead of helping others make a phone and then branding it a “Nexus”, we might see a whole new line of products made exclusively by Google. This will of course compete with its old partners, but it could offer a better and more streamlined Android experience. Faster software updates, better performance and battery life, and it’s exactly what Google intended, with no compromises.

There’s no point in having a real device or plans yet to be confirmed, and at this point it’s nothing more than a rumour. The info claims that sources close to the matter confirmed that Google was talking about entering the smartphone market internally rather than messing with others, but that’s how things went. This means that it could just be thought and talk that was wasted and never materialized, then the Nexus lineup would continue, something we might see in a few years, or a plan that Google takes action and announces an entirely new smartphone sometime in 2016. This may be exactly what Google needs to improve the Android experience and compete more closely with Samsung and Apple.
