Plex for Android: major UI update, here’s a list of new features

Plex announced on its blog that the app now benefits from a new, more customizable interface. Indeed, users now have control of the homepage, which they can modify as they wish. For example we can select categories we need to enable or disable what we want to be displayed in the application and we no longer want to see there. At the bottom of the homepage, users can choose the order in which they want these different categories to be displayed.

Like many apps, the navigation bar is no longer at the bottom of the screen and no longer on the side as a pane. Facelift allows better organization of displayed content and saves time while navigating. Here List of new features introducedannounced by the publisher:

  • Customizable home screen: You now have full control over the app’s home screen: you can rearrange (or remove) any of the sections (like “Recently Added”) or add new ones from anywhere in the app, even between different servers.
  • Easier Navigation: We’ve added tabs at the bottom of the screen to quickly navigate between media types (movies, TV, etc.) and they’re fully customizable. You can close the tabs you don’t want to see and focus on your preferred media.
  • Podcasts come in beta first. Android app users can use this feature if they want. The content is of course already available, but users also have the option to add more if they wish.

The podcast player is complete and you can check the speed, favorites, etc. Allows you to set It’s worth noting that this feature does not require having a Plex server to work.
