In version 4.8 of Google apps available a few days ago, the code that suggested this possibility appeared and added new interesting functionality to the process. So in a short time it will be possible to call a contact, send a message, listen to music and even turn Wi-Fi on and off with a simple voice command and without being forced to have an internet connection.
As you can see, the list of offline functions is very limited at the moment, but Google will certainly expand this list as these functions become available to users. In addition to the possibility of using Google Now without an internet connection, new possibilities are also available in the source code of Google applications.

Thus, when you connect to an unsafe internet network, you will be notified in a short time, and you will be able to adjust the volume and brightness of your smartphone screen. Unfortunately, these functions may be available in the source code of Google applications, we do not yet know when they will be available to users, it may take a few days, several months.
