Mario Kart Tour is the mobile version of Nintendo’s famous racing game. The title is getting a major update today. In fact, it’s now possiblePlay in landscape mode. Those familiar with the software know that it currently only works in portrait mode. Nintendo has always relied on this format for one-handed play in its mobile games, but it’s hard to maintain that behavior in a racing game.
So now it is possible to switch between the two modes. Since the title was released, you have the option to play vertically or horizontally. It’s up to you. This is a nice option that will make life easier for those who are not used to the vertical view. To take advantage of it, just update the game if this is not done automatically.
Is Mario Kart Tour Nintendo’s swan song?
Mario Kart Tour Released on iOS and Android in 2019 and even though it was a huge success, topping downloads for several days, it remains a semi-failure for Nintendo. The Kyoto company, which entered the mobile market entirely in 2017, has failed to gain a solid foothold in the market.
There were small successes like Super Mario Run, but also failures like Animal Crossing Mobile or Dr. Mario. After the enormous and unexpected success of the Switch in the last three years, Nintendo decided to gradually abandon the mobile platform and focus on its console. Still, today, the publisher’s flagship titles not completely forgotten.
Mario Kart Tour is getting another major update after the multiplayer mode that revived interest in the game last March, but it remains to be seen if any major improvements are planned for the future.
