After the announcement of the new Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P by Google yesterday, many potential buyers were wondering how well the new 12.3-megapixel camera would perform without Optical Image Stabilization. Below is an extremely impressive Nexus 6P photo gallery (more here) and video example that should give buyers an idea of what to expect.
A great camera is a must when it comes to a smartphone here in 2015, and Google has finally figured it out. I’m not a photography enthusiast, but the general consensus is that these speeds allow for better photos, faster shutter speeds, and lower ISOs for an overall better camera experience.
Essentially, it allows the camera to perform much better in all situations, especially in low light, where small movements cause blurriness, loss of detail and grainy images due to ISO without having to keep the shutter open forever. Lack of lighting In fact, Google mentioned on stage that this large sensor allows for such great photos that there was no need for image stabilization.
Of course, it will be especially useful for video recording and slow motion video, where the Nexus 6P, like the iPhone 6s Plus, can do at 240 FPS. But the Nexus 5X only records slow motion at 120 FPS. Either way, the Nexus 5X should have a pretty excellent camera, but the slightly better octa-core Snapdragon 810 chip in the Nexus 6P should make it outperform the Nexus 5X overall.

These are not photographers like LG did with the LG G4, but ordinary people who take pictures like most average consumers.

As we all know, they’re fast little guys, and being able to slow down such fast movements while still getting so much detail would be tough on any smartphone camera. The example below is simply stunning. Exceptional colour, detail and accuracy are demonstrated while recording 240 FPS (frames per second) on the Nexus 6P.
Slow motion videos are a way to show how great a camera can be, and if the video above is any indication, the Nexus 6P should be one of the best options available in 2015.
Not everyone will be shooting slow motion video, though, and regular photos are something people are interested in. Fortunately, the 12.3-megapixel camera also takes pretty good pictures. Below are a few examples taken and shared by Google that are somewhat compressed due to their large size, but still give buyers a great idea of what to expect if they choose Google’s new Nexus 6P.
