If all Google apps have been moved to: Material Design, some have less built-in new directives than others. This situation is particularlyhangouts Things are done gradually through various updates.
Android Police site that managed to take over today, PNext version of Hangouts presents us some images in the preview. Again, if this is not a redesign 100% Material Design, things are moving in the right direction and this new version of the messaging client shows major changes, starting with the app icon turning a darker green and becoming flatter. A technique that is the same as the one adopted for the Google Docs icon.
A change that can also be found in the title of the application as the new color palette extends to the status bar (see below). The iconography has also been revamped, but the basic style and functionality of the app remains the same.

There are also some changes in the conversation window, especially on the side of the icon that allows attaching files to a message. The button for accessing emojis also seems to have disappeared. However, this change is likely to be relevant, not on Hangoutsinstead to the new Android Lollipop keyboard, because it has also been noticed in the current version of devices running the latest version of Google’s operating system.
So, an update that will represent a big step towards a complete metamorphosis of the messaging client. everything doesn’t seem to be finalized yet because the settings menu still maintains a Holo style with checkboxes.
