Last October, Google announced the Public Preview version of the Google Home app for Wear OS smartwatches. The app was only compatible with Wear OS 3 smartwatches and was severely lacking in features. Because that’s not the case anymore Google has finally updated its app.
The two main features of this update are “speed and performance improvements” and easier navigation. Google Home for Wear OS, specifically A new list view that makes it easier to access your devices“ If you have 10 or fewer devices ”, according to Google.
Google also notes that you can now: Control devices connected to you that are not yet assigned to a specific home ”, without further details. We reiterate that this update should only be available on watches running Wear OS 3, including the Google Watch or Galaxy Watch 5.
Unfortunately, These changes seem to only affect users who don’t have many devices in their homes. Therefore, those with more than 10 devices should still see a list of rooms, which they must select one by one to see and control connected devices. This way of working is therefore not the most efficient and thus often pushes Google fans to use their voice to unlock their devices rather than manually navigating through the app.
