Google Photos will bring your photos to life with Cinematic Moments

When you take a photo with your phone, you often have to double or even triple it to get the right moment. Then you can keep all the snapshots in the Google Photos app. Second, it will use these replicas to create small animations. Cinematic Moments was one of the new features shown By Google during the Google I/O on May 18. The idea is to take two almost similar shots and “link” them using artificial intelligence.

The result is a small animation where you see your photo moving. This is somewhat reminiscent of what MyHeritage offers, which brings old images back to life by moving “models”. The principle is the same here, but with much more convincing results, because several shots are used.

The most striking example is when you photograph a child in action. Google will link two photos together and complete the move by creating a one-second animation. Enough to relive some precious memories.

Google Photos now lets you lock certain albums

Moreover, Google has returned to other minor features that enrich its app. For example, the souvenir section was revised, AI to find photos by theme looking for patterns. Also, if you don’t find yourself advantageous, it will now be possible to delete a single photo from your memories album. It will now be possible to lock albums. Ideal if you give your phone to someone scrolling through snaps in the app and you don’t want them to see some of it.

All these new features will be available very soon. They will also be available on both Android and iOS smartphones. With all that said, Google of course hopes to encourage you to use its app and why not pay a subscription to store your photos.
