Google Pay replaces Android Pay and Google Wallet

Google Pay, the new mobile payment service, is coming to Android. It replaces Android Pay and Google Wallet and promises to offer a better user experience with its new system. Google Pay, of course, allows online payment or money transfer as well as contactless payment with a smartphone via NFC. A complete solution that could become a necessity if Google maneuvers well.

Google Pay is a response to the increasingly popular Apple Pay. Unlike Android Pay and now Google Pay, Apple’s service has already been available in France since summer 2017. And it’s coming in handy for more and more consumers: it’s now possible to link your Societe Generale debit card to Apple Pay to facilitate payments.

Google is therefore lagging behind in this area. Google Pay is available in the United States and the United Kingdom and will gradually be rolled out to other markets. France, which doesn’t even have access to Android Pay, doesn’t seem like a priority. The Mountain View giant must believe that the French are not among the populations that can easily adopt the practice.

By the way, there is another solution on Android to quickly pay without having to open it with your smartphone: PayPal, BNP Paribas, Banque Postale, Société Générale, Crédit Agricole, Boursorama Banque, Hello Bank!, Caisse d’Epargne and Crédit Mutuel Arkea. A service that can be activated by eligible customers through their bank’s app.
