Google News gets a new design on desktop. The Mountain View company decided to give it a makeover after a redesign of the mobile app. Google News’ new interface on PC is also inspired by the Android and iOS app, emphasizing readability.
Google News brings a new design to PC
Google News usually looks like a natural search results page. Indeed, by going to the Google News tab, you will no longer see curated articles on the same topic. Like the “All” tab, Google now offers a Onebox. It is this appendix where three articles are specially highlighted above the search results.
Other news articles come after Onebox cards, but they’re much more readable than the old version, including larger headlines and a featured image. The new card reserved for each news also includes the names and logos of the sites that were not in the old version. That’s why Google decided to offer Fewer articles on Google News by prioritizing readability.

“The new interface highlights publisher names and organizes articles more clearly to help you find the news you need,” Google said in a post on Twitter. Mountain View firm presents the new design there in a GIF showing the before and after changes. Finally, these changes are not live yet. Google is promising an app in the next two weeks.
