Google Messages will soon offer to schedule sending text messages

Google continues to improve its various services and applications. While we expect a hypothetical major overhaul of Gmail with the integration of Meet, Chat and Rooms, Mountain View company is bringing new features to the Google Messages app on Android.

According to our colleagues at XDA Developers, Google may integrate a feature that allows: Schedule to send SMS. As a reminder, it’s already been possible to do this in Gmail for a while. According to the bloggers of XDA Developers, the web giant is currently rolling out an update to the app that should enable a server setting.

Schedule your SMS whenever you want

Once the feature is deployed, all you have to do is Press and hold the Send button for a few seconds to delay sending the SMS. Google will then offer three default slots, or you can directly enter a time and date. Once completed, your message will be placed on a waiting list until it is sent.

Remember that you can access it at your leisure. modify, delete or send directly. Regular users of Google Messages know that holding the Send button before allows you to add a subject to the message. Now this feature is registered in the “hamburger” menu (note: three dots).

More security in Google Messages coming soon

Security in Google Messages also remains one of Google’s top priorities. At the end of September, we learned that Google will soon be removing one-time code text messages from Google Messages. These are the codes you get when you enable two-factor authentication. Company, Google Messages Automatically delete them after 24 hours.

We would like to remind you that Google is currently working to make the experience offered by all these applications more homogeneous. This is reflected in the recent replacement of Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, Meets and Calendar icons. Now the icons all share the same color code and only the shape changes. In fact, they all adapted the style of Google Drive. In fact, it is more homogeneous, but it does not need to be clearer for the user, who could previously distinguish different applications of the American company at a glance.
