Google is testing a new feature for Google Maps navigation with some users. This includes landmarks such as monuments, shops or fast food to make the indicators more precise and make Google Maps navigation more convenient to use.

Concretely, you may hear instructions like “Turn right after McDonald’s” or “Keep straight to Darty” while navigating. In most cases, this new feature should help users. find your way and understand faster what should they do? Usually, mentioning the name of the street during a standard “turn right, rue Victor Hugo” instruction is pretty useless since we don’t know where we are. It will now be possible to trust the voice more easily than the GPS map.

It is not yet clear when this feature will be rolled out to more users and whether it will be available immediately in France, or whether it will be necessary to wait after it is officially released in the United States. So what do you think? Pretty useful, right?
