Google Files protects all your folders with a simple PIN

Application Files from Google (also known as Google Files or Google Files) is a file manager for Android smartphones developed by the Mountain View company. It allows you to navigate through folders on the phone, as well as documents, photos, videos, etc. in PDF, PowerPoint or Word format. It allows you to open most of the files that are there. Google Files is also scan storage and delete junk files (iterations, downloading archives, etc.).

This week, Google is further enriching its file manager by integrating a secure folder. The new functionality will only be available in beta and will be rolled out gradually over the next few weeks. If you are interested in this new tool, be patient.

How does it work? Very simple. Secure Folder is enabled by default and appears in the tab Searchat game To collect. To include a file to be protected, simply select it and move it to the secure folder. The application is then four digit PIN code. Entering this PIN will be required after each launch of the application to access the folder, move and delete a file.

A simple four-digit PIN to secure files?

Note that this will happen if you move a file to the secure folder. inaccessible from another admin files, your image gallery if it’s a photo, or another app in general. Final clarification: app does not manage no more elaborate pin codes or passwordsand it doesn’t cooperate (yet?) with biometric sensors (such as fingerprint reader) built into the smartphone.

This new function will certainly not interest all owners of an Android smartphone. As a matter of fact, many manufacturers (Samsung, Huawei, Oppo, Asus etc.) have already integrated an alternative to this secure folder in the skin they are developing. Samsung’s previously named solution Knox, it was certainly the best known. Replaced by Secure Folder.
