PDF format has become indispensable for text files. It has proven itself as the best solution to easily share and view documents without compatibility issues. But PDF has its flaws, too, and you’ve probably already wanted to make changes to a file or add content. This is now possible natively on an Android device, thanks to the Google Drive cloud storage app.
Thus, various annotation tools are available to users. We have a pen to write or draw and a highlighter to highlight text. It is possible to change the size and color of the brush for these two functions. The eraser allows you to erase a line you have drawn. Finally, a mode gives the ability to show or hide all annotations in the document.
How to edit a PDF document on Android?
You can annotate a PDF document in Google Drive with your finger or a pen. Open the Google Drive app on your Android device, then open the PDF you want to edit. Tap the button in the bottom right add a description. You will then switch to Preview mode: a toolbar appears, just select one to start modifying the document.
Note that you can tap and hold the toolbar to position it on any side of the screen. When you finish your work, you can save over the original PDF file or create a copy with a new name to keep the original document without annotations.
This feature is only available in the latest version of Google Drive; To take advantage of this, install it via Play Store if you haven’t already. The ability to annotate PDFs is currently reserved for smartphones and tablets running Android 6.0 Marshmallow or later. We have no information about possible distribution on Apple iPhones.
