Google Docs finally includes a fixer for grammar mistakes

Google Docs is now entitled to a grammar checker that complements what’s reserved for spell checking. A much more complex tool to set up, it will leverage Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning to improve usage after use and detect the most complex bugs to detect.

Google promises its new tool can deliver “Several different types of corrections, from simple grammatical rules like using articles in a sentence to more complex concepts like how to construct a sentence correctly”. As we’re used to now, errors are underlined with a red wave and all you have to do is click on the word or phrase to be presented with an alternative. This isn’t about trusting Google 100% either, but it can help you quickly recognize that a typo has been made.

Google also has editors “Created locally in Docs”what does it do “extremely safe and reliable”. Maybe the Mountain View company remembers the massive phishing attack that hit Google Docs in May 2017.

The AI-powered grammar checker is already available for English-speaking users participating in the Early Adopter Program. A public release date has not yet been announced. Nor for the arrival of functionality for the French language. As with Google Assistant voice commands, French often has to wait a bit before offering the same services as English.
