Google announced via a blog note that the Google Assistant on smartphones can now tell stories to its users, a feature already available on Google Home-connected speakers and therefore coming to Android and iOS. This option currently only works in English in the US, Canada, UK, Australia and India. This should be available in France soon.
Google Assistant launches audiobooks like Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Hansel and Gretel or Dora the Explorer
After telling the Google Assistant to “read a story” or “tell us a story,” the AI opens the Google Play Books app (which needs updating) and randomly selects an available audiobook. These last between 3 and 10 minutes. The current catalog includes stories like Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Hansel and Gretel, or short stories from Dora the Explorer or Ninja Turtles.

Something to sleep on or keep the kids busy. On the other hand, we might regret the lack of more adult podcasts or content. The Mountain View company also offered an immersive experience on Google Home, allowing parents to tell stories to children and punctuate events with the speaker’s soundscape, including music and sound effects.
