Gmail: App now lets you make audio and video calls

Last September, Google announced that it would allow users to make calls directly from the Gmail app on iOS and Android. Until now, users were able to create a Google Meet link in the app and share it with others through the service of their choice, and even join meetings created by others via the mobile app. Google has streamlined the process to save you time.

Indeed, you can now call people one-to-one by voice or video. directly from the chat in Gmail on the smartphone and on the web. With this new feature, Google hopes to balance the ability for people returning to their physical workplace to continue working from home with the ability to connect with each other without wasting time.

How does search work in Gmail?

Voice or video call options now appear in the upper-right corner of the Gmail app when you send messages to coworkers or friends from the “Chat” tab. simply select the phone or video icon in the upper right corner of the individual chat to call a contact directly.

Missed calls will be highlighted with a red icon next to each person in the chat list, and ongoing calls will be highlighted with a blue banner at the top of the screen that indicates. the person’s name and the duration of the call.

Google’s new feature available to all Google users, including Workspace, G Suite Basic, and Business customers, as well as personal Google Accounts. Google also reported that users clicked the “Join Search” button in the Google Chat app. It will be redirected to the Gmail app.

The new feature is available by default on Android and iOS devices, but you need to install the latest version of Gmail to take advantage of it. According to Google, the updated version of Gmail is rolling out to users of both platforms. but it will take about two weeks for everyone to get it in the Apple Store or Google Play Store.. Meanwhile, Google has already rolled out other features to the Mail app, including new options that prevent you from getting the wrong recipient.
