Both models have the same 12, 12 and 16MP triple rear camera setup that can take amazing photos and videos. You don’t need to buy the bigger device to get the best camera experience. Unless of course you like to take selfies.

Of course, the Galaxy S10+ has a larger screen size, but both are curved Quad-HD displays with the same resolution. This means that the smaller Galaxy S10 screen with the same 3040 x 1440 resolution can look a little clearer and you’ll never notice the difference in pixel density as it’s “better”. They both look great and both offer one of the best smartphone displays in the business. However, it’s only 60 Hz compared to 90 Hz on the Pixel 4 or OnePlus 7T.

What is different?

The differences you’ll want to notice are the larger screen and extra front camera on the Galaxy S10Plus, not to mention the bigger battery. This last one is also really important.

This year’s Galaxy S10 is almost the same size as 2018’s Galaxy S9+ and offers a 6.1-inch screen. If you opt for the larger Galaxy S10+, you’ll get a Note-sized 6.4-inch screen instead. If you’re not used to a large screen, it can be more difficult to operate and use, especially with one hand. This is a big phone.

The Galaxy S10+ is slightly longer, wider and heavier than the regular S10. However, this larger screen fits in exactly the same package as the Galaxy S9+ as the phone is not physically larger, the screen just makes more efficient use of the entire front body of the bezel. So if you’ve enjoyed the S8+ or S9+ in previous years, you’ll feel right at home with the Galaxy S10+.

However, along with the bigger screen you also get a bigger battery, which is extremely important. In fact, the Galaxy S10+ has the largest battery we’ve seen of any Galaxy S phone and boasts incredible battery life.

You get a pretty decent size with the Galaxy S10, . This is bigger than the 4k pack on the Galaxy Note 9 and can easily get you through the whole day. In fact, we get about 7-10 hours of “screen-on time” with the S10+, which is incredible.

Perhaps the most noticeable visual difference, aside from the larger screen, is the dual camera gap on the Galaxy S10+’s display. This year Samsung has finally upgraded its front-facing selfie camera to 10 megapixels, which is great. And if you choose the Galaxy S10+, you get a regular 10MP front camera and a second depth-sensing 8MP camera for enhanced photos, portrait mode and other neat features. This also means that the cutout and hole in the screen (for the camera) are larger and more pronounced on the S10 Plus.

You can also pay a little more to get the S10 Plus with optional upgrades that include 12GB of RAM, 1TB of storage, and Ceramic on the back instead of glass. It is expensive but much more durable.

Perhaps as important as the screen size and battery is the cost of these phones. As expected, they are expensive.

Which Galaxy S10 Should You Buy?

Most people will probably prefer the Galaxy S10 as it is more affordable. It’s also a great all-around pick, with the larger screen in nearly the same size and package as before.

If you’re not sure if you can handle a large phone, go with the Galaxy S10. It can do everything the larger phone can do, and it’s still a great device.

However, choosing the Galaxy S10+ over the smaller variant will give you a bigger and better experience, more storage and a choice of better building materials, and you’ll get longer battery life. If you ask me, battery life is very important, so I recommend you to buy the Plus model.

Basically, you’ll want the Galaxy S10+ if you want a bigger screen for gaming and movies, if you need the best battery life possible, if you love taking selfies, or if you want one of the biggest, fastest and best phones Samsung has ever made.
