Galaxy Note 8 Release Date Unblocks

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 release date has removed a few hurdles from Samsung’s highly anticipated August 23 launch date in Berlin, Germany.

Samsung still hasn’t said much about its big new phone, but we know a lot already. Recently, Galaxy Note 8 leaks and rumors are at an all-time high. we saw the photos, videoimages of the large frameless screen and other important details.

With less than a month left until the August 23 launch event, the excitement is building. Especially for Galaxy Note 7 refugees waiting for the next Note. As Samsung continues to prepare for its inevitable exit, the company has passed an important test.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 cleared the FCC this weekend. While the filing doesn’t reveal anything we don’t already know, it does confirm that the release date is close and the phone has a safe battery.

In July, Samsung finally said the Galaxy Note 8 was real, coming soon, and confirmed the August 23 release date. Prior to that, rumors suggested an announcement and release date at the end of September. Of course, it’s much later than expected, and more than a month after past Note devices.

We can now officially confirm that August 23rd will indeed be the launch date, and several leaks believe the phone’s release date is August 25th, just two days later. However, Samsung usually launches its phones two weeks after the launch event. So, we can wait until September 6-9 before we’re ready to buy.

The Galaxy S8 tells us a lot about the Galaxy Note 8, and this new FCC file confirms many of the other leaks. In the report, we can see that the Galaxy Note 8 is the SM-N950U model. The U stands for “unlocked,” so expect an unlocked model a few weeks after carrier-branded phones arrive.

Galaxy Note 8 features include a large 6.3-inch Quad-HD AMOLED Infinity Display with curved edges. The phone has thin bezels like the Galaxy S8 and is slightly larger than the S8+ launched earlier this year. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with 6GB RAM and 64/128GB storage. Some versions may use Samsung’s own Exynos processor.

Potential buyers can look forward to a new and improved dual camera system on the back. Rumors believe that Samsung is using two 12 Dual Pixel cameras for a great photography experience. One lens will be similar to the Galaxy S8, while the second sensor will offer telephoto zoom. Similar to the iPhone 7 Plus dual cameras, it allows for beautifully zoomed photos, blur effects and portrait photography. But one report believes Samsung will beat Apple here by offering 3x zoom instead of 2x optical zoom.

Additionally, the Galaxy Note 8 has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, a built-in S-Pen stylus, IP68 dust and water resistance, and a microSD slot for storage expansion. For comparison, the 6.2-inch Galaxy S8+ comes with a 3,500mAh battery.
